Match Preview: Tranmere Rovers

Peterborough United travel away to Prenton Park on Tuesday evening for a Sky Bet League One fixture against Tranmere Rovers.

The Posh will be looking to continue their impressive form on Tuesday night as they search for their fifth straight victory in League One. Last Saturday’s 6-0 thrashing against Rochdale at London Road was Posh’ biggest league win at home in over 8 years and showed the rest of League One just how much of a force Posh could be this season.

Peterborough’s opponents, Tranmere Rovers, were recently promoted to League One through the play-offs last season. Their manager, Micky Mellon is a former player for the side, and has guided them to back-to-back promotions from the National League in 2017 to League One in 2019.

Tranmere will be missing quite a few players for the fixture with Callum Woods (Calf), Kane Wilson (Knee), Mark Ellis (Knee), Ishmael Miller (Hamstring), Jack Caprice (Ankle), Evan Gumbs (ACL) and Morgan Ferrier (Knee) all sidelined for the match.

For the Posh, left-back Frazer Blake-Tracy will miss the match as he still recovers from an ongoing muscle injury.

Another doubt for the game is George Boyd, missing the previous match due to a slight hamstring injury.
