Posh will be looking to rise into the automatic promotion places for the first time this season if results go their way and they can beat an Accrington side not short on confidence. After a hard-fought victory on Saturday against former manager Steve Evans’ Gillingham, Posh sit in third place, just two points below Wycombe in second place.
Accrington will be feeling confident to defeat another top team after beating league leaders Ipswich Town on Sunday and ending their unbeaten run to the season. Their manager, John Coleman, has managed the club for five years and has seen his side rise up to the third tier of English football for the first time in their history.
Posh are confident that Marcus Maddison will return back into the side after an absence in the previous match was due to bruised ribs. Also returning to the side will be defender Frankie Kent after recovering from an illness and Louis Reed, who has served his suspension after receiving a red card in the game against Lincoln City.
Accrington will be without defender Ross Sykes following a red card in his previous match.
